Discredited magazine publisher at war with Adobe

A discredited and SYStematically CONniving magazine publisher has fired yet another salvo at Adobe today in their usual manner. This involves taking a blog post, re-branding it as coming from their "news desk" and altering the title to fit their vendetta. The post in question was BlueDragon Open Source - Launch Date Announced by Alan Williamson about how the New Atlanta team is working hard to get a public release ready for display at cf.Objective() 2008. Informative and straight forward. The re-branded version had the same title with a single alteration, a prefix of "ColdFusion Killer".

At no time did Alan say anything about the open source BlueDragon being a ColdFusion killer. It's not something that's been said by anyone...other than the publisher in question.

Really guys, this is getting old and stale. Just because Adobe stopped advertising with you doesn't mean you have to commit fraud to get back at them. Lame.

todd sharp's Gravatar The funniest part is Andy's quote on his blog:

"If nothing else works, then a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through."

How funny!!!!!

Alan's Gravatar @Todd; you mean "Alan's" quote, not Andy's quote! ;)

yes, there seems to be some what of an artistic license taken there by SYS-CON regarding the killer aspect. I never once said that.

In all fairness they did ask before reposting my blog entry, so please do not condemn them for that.

Sean Corfield's Gravatar Wait, didn't they "relaunch" CFDJ as the Silverlight Developer's Journal? How come it's still "printing" garbage? Oh, because they're unprofessional incompetent morons. Of course. Silly me.

Gosh, I almost wish they were still syndicating my blog on their home page (without my permission, as they were doing before!) so I could criticize them and have them showcase my vitriol (like they were doing before).

I'm almost disappointed with you for mentioning them (and I notice they've changed the article headline already).

Michael Dinowitz's Gravatar @Alan - Artistic license should still keep to facts and truth rather than childish attacks. But I am glad they asked to repost your entry. Others have had their blog entries published without permission and it has caused a major firestorm (among others).

@Sean - Thanks for the update about the title. Because of how they put out their content it is automatically picked up by Google as news and spread across the net. News and truth don't have to coincide in peoples minds. :(

Oh, and for you almost being disappointed, I never did say who I was talking about. :)

Terry's Gravatar re: It's not something that's been said by anyone

I said it, many colleagues of mine have said it.

The pressure of CF being forced to near extinction and the realisation that many of todays developers simply don't know what coldfusion is or that think it is or think that it is already dead, has forced a move to open source. Eg; last ditch attempt to get pepple to actually use it.
